James B. "Jim" Norwood 
 
Memorial services for JAMES "JIM" B. NORWOOD, 54, Tyler, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday at First Presbyterian Church, Tyler. Mr. Norwood died October 18, 2004 at his residence. He was born May 14, 1950 in Houston, TX to Scott and Coleen Norwood. He graduated from MacArthur High School in Aldine in 1968 and then went on to Texas A&M University, College Station. He graduated in 1972 receiving his BBA degree in finance. Upon graduation he received his commission as an officer in the United States Army and later joined the Texas Army National Guard and retired as a Major in 1993. During his reserve time Jim received his MBA degree from Abilene Christian College. He worked for Boise Cascade in Carrollton for 2 years and then for Miller Brewing Co., Ft. Worth, TX as a production line supervisor and industrial engineer for 22 years. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Fran Norwood, Tyler; sons, Bradford and Clifton Norwood of Tyler; and sister, Annetta Norwood, Dallas. Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church Youth Fund 230 W. Rusk, Tyler, 75701.

Peggy Sue Hammers (Moran) (1969)

This is indeed sad news.  Jimmy Norwood always seemed to be either serious or shy...I never had the opportunity, or maybe I was too shy.  I learned just a year ago, my parents purchased a new home from his Dad and I believe they had a lumber company.  It becomes interesting how we may be connected from childhood.
