Tommy and I were good friends during high school even though he was a year ahead of me. I worked at the Harris Co. Sheriff's Office for 4 years and during that time, I ran into Tommy again there. He had worked there, I believe, for probably close to 40 years. He was only several months away from retiring when he was killed in an accident, helping others, after hurricane Ike in 2008. He was a great guy and he had served his country in the military as well. I guess you could say that he spent his entire adult life serving others. He was 59 when he passed away.
Tommy Keen was our local "Elvis". I did not have the opportunity to know him, but what I gather he was modest about his good looks and as honorable a young man. His kindness grew with him into his manhood and became a local hero for the Sheriff's department. It is a very sad loss to all who know him and had yet to meet him.
