Albert, Al, Roeben was stricken with Lou Gehrig's disease. He had such wonderful friends and family that held a benefit to send him all the way to China for stem cell surgery to try to save his life. There is no treatment and no cure for this deadly disease. Al passed away 9 months after being diagnosed with ALS better known as Lou Gehrig's disease. He was fortunate to be retired from Rodeway Express for 7 years after working 30 years. He was 48 when he retired. I knew Al in high school but never got to know him. It was after we both had been married that we met in March '87 and married. He passed away exactly 1 month before our 18th anniversary. I miss him and love him for the brave fight that he fought.
