JACKSONVILLE — Funeral services for Jack W. Thrift, age 59, of Jacksonville, are scheduled for Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at 10:00 A. M.  at Emmanuel Baptist Church, Jacksonville, under the direction of Autry Funeral Home Jacksonville.  Rev. A. F. Jernigan will officiate.

 

Interment will be held at Still Waters Memorial Garden, Jacksonville

 

Rev. Thrift went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, April 9, 2011 in Nacogdoches.

 

He was born July 13, 1951 in Aransas Pass, Texas. Jack was Pastor of Emmanuel Baptist Church, Jacksonville for 24 years. He spent 40 years in the Gospel Ministry. Rev. Thrift served his country in the United States Air Force for 6 years during the Vietnam War.

 

Mr. Thrift is preceded in death by his father, Robert Thrift.

 

Survivors include wife; Mary Thrift, Jacksonville, a son and wife Jonathan and Melissa Thrift, Jacksonville, daughters and sons in-law; Sharon and Pat Nance, Jacksonville, Laura and Keith Adams, Nacogdoches, Kathleen and Josh Parker, Jacksonville. his mother, Jeanne Thrift, Humble.  Brother Robert A. Thrift, Terre Haute, Ind., and Mark E. and Joni Thrift, Humble, sister; Jo Ann Hollister and husband Bobby, Humble.  He has six grandchildren Ethan, Aaron, Rebecca, Benjamin, Ava and Charis; and several nieces and nephews.

 

Pallbearers will be: Skip Downum, Larry Odom, Chris Cravens, Luke Martinez, Adam Brittain, and Steven Palmer.

 

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm 8:00 PM Monday April 11, 2011, at Autry Funeral Home, Jacksonville.
