Tommy wanted to let his hair grow long and, as you know, that wasn't allowed at MacArthur in '71. He and Michael Goodwin quit school for awhile in protest. Our father, Philip Graviano, went to the school and tried to get the rule changed, but wasn't successful. Tommy and Mike went back to school after a while and finished. They cut their hair.

Joe Burns (1971)

Do not stand by my grave and weep,
I am not there... I do not sleep.
I am the thousand winds that blow,
I am the winter snow.
I am the autumn leaves that fall,
I am the summer sun on the concert hall.
I am the spring flowers under your feet,
Isn't that neat?
Do not stand by my grave and cry,
I am not there... I do not sleep.

Hi Mike,

I don't know if you remember me from our days at Mac Arthur High School. I graduated class of "72. You may remember me as John Mauldin. I am very sorry to learn of Tommy's passing. He was a good friend in my youth and an all around great guy. I remember going to your home on several occasions
with my brother, Henry and a friend of ours, Robert Evans (also deceased). We would hang out in the garage while you and Tommy were building Your tricycle motorcycles. I helped Tommy out of some possible trouble one night. He was being  chased by about 6 - 7 guys and I happened to be driving by. I drove up on the sidewalk and started to run
down  the punks chasing him. They scattered and Tommy got in my car for his getaway. Like many people, I loved the van he had, the one he sold Murray McDaniel. A classic paint job it was. Over the years I've periodically thought about Tommy, wondering about him. I know the pain of losing a brother. Henry passed away April. 2013. He's the 1st of my siblings to pass and it hasn't been easy for me to get through my grieving process. I hope I'm not bringing up any pain you may have over the loss of your brother....that's not my intention. I just wanted to share some memories I have of my friendship with Tommy and let you know there are those of us that have fond memories of him.... People you may not even remember. He is not and will never be forgotten. May he rest in peace.

Take care and have a wonder holiday season Mike.

John Blaine (Mauldin)
